Jon Rosamond
Editor, Jane’s Navy International
Jon Rosamond has edited Jane's Navy International for the past two-and-a-half years, during which he has covered naval operations and exercises, conferences, industry exhibitions and briefings in Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Turkey, the US and the Persian Gulf, as well as the UK, and led a small team that has reported from places as far afield as Sri Lanka and Japan.
From December 2003 to April 2007, Jon was defence correspondent on the Portsmouth News (one of only two regional newspapers in the UK with such a post), writing primarily about the Royal Navy but also Army units on ops/exercises in Germany and Iraq. Prior to that he worked as a journalist in the southwest of England, mainly as a health correspondent covering the National Health Service, with a short stint on the Daily Mail in London.
Jon was also a Territorial Army reservist, spending 13 years as a cavalryman in the Royal Wessex Yeomanry, initially in a light reconnaissance unit and subsequently in the armour replacement (tank crew) role.

Alex Pape is resident analyst for Jane's Defence Forecasts - Military Vessel Programmes and provides clients of this specialised intelligence-centre with up-to-date global coverage of naval vessel (and submarine) procurement and upgrade programmes currently ongoing or planned across this market sector. In addition, he provides forward looking analysis, identifying future programmes and likely solutions, as well as market trends and drivers.
Alex has previously gained relevant experience when he joined Jane's Defence Forecasts aerospace team. Alex Pape holds a Masters Degree in International Conflict Studies from King's College London's school of War Studies where he undertook specialised studies into in Civil-Military relations and the proliferation of weapons.
