Damian Kemp has worked as a reporter, business editor and aviation editor on Jane's Defence Weekly and as managing editor for Jane's Missiles and Rockets.

As editor of Jane's Unmanned Ground Vehicles and Systems he has brought together a comprehensive listing of the world's unmanned ground vehicles. He has a BA (Journalism) from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia.


Mark Daly

Jane's Aero-Engines and Jane's Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Targets

Born and raised in Worcestershire and educated Prince Henry's Grammar School, Mark Daly's first experience in aerospace journalism was as a reporter on a company newspaper in 1980.

In 1983 he joined Jane's Information Group as a reporter on the newly launched Jane's Defence Weekly and became news editor in 1989. He later transferred to Jane's International Defence Review as editor-in-chief. In 2007 Mark joined the editorial teams of Jane's Aero-Engines and Jane's Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Targets.


Cliff Funnell

Editor of Jane's Underwater Warfare Systems and Jane's Unmanned Maritime Vehicles and Systems

Cliff Funnell became Editor of Jane's Underwater Warfare Systems in 2006. Cliff has also been the editor of Jane's Underwater Technology since it was first published in 1997, and co-Editor of the new title, Jane's Survey Vessels in 1999. After an early career as a Navigating Officer in the Merchant Navy, followed by a short period in ship management, he joined the UK's National Maritime Institute in 1983 as a Project Officer on UK Government funded marine research and development.

Since then he has worked under contract to the UK Department of Trade & Industry, as Programme Consultant on a number of UK and European research programmes, including the UK's Efficient Ship Programme; the Resources from the Sea Programme; Wealth from the Oceans Programme; EUROMAR and the European Commission's MAST II, MAST III and Fifth Framework Programmes

Other clients have included the European Commission, the Swedish, Irish and Canadian governments, as well as private industry and research institutes. Initially, these were related to marine transportation technologies, however, for the last 12 years have primarily been related to subsea and ocean resource technologies, including ocean survey and exploration, e.g. UUVs, sonar systems, environmental monitoring, marine renewable energies, fisheries, aquaculture and offshore hydrocarbons.

He is a Member of the Society of Underwater Technology and sits on their Underwater Robotics Group. He is also a Member of the US Marine Technology Society. He has been active in organising and participating in a number of underwater technology and oceanography conferences, chairing the AUV Masterclass in September 2001, and the Unmanned Underwater Vehicle Showcase, held at the National Oceanographic Centre, Southampton in September 2002. More recently Cliff has also acted as Chairman of the IQPC Underwater Battlespace 2005 and 2006 Conferences, held in London.


Sara Morgan

Sara Morgan
Publisher, Defence Equipment and Technology and Transport

Sara Morgan is Jane’s Publisher for the Defence Equipment and Technology and Transport portfolios. This includes the iconic Jane’s Fighting Ships and All the World’s Aircraft on the reference side, as well as International Defence Review, Navy International, Missiles and Rockets and Airport Review on the news side.

Sara graduated from Warwick University with a BA in English and European Literature and has pursued a career in business to business publishing over a number of years managing both product development and editorial functions at a senior level in Wolters Kluwer and latterly at Jane’s Information Group. At Jane’s Sara has recently spearheaded the launch of Jane’s Unmanned Ground Vehicles in a range of formats, which now forms part of the tripartite Unmanned Systems desk.
