Jane’s Transport Finance Awards 2011
30 November 2011, Plaisterers’ Hall, London
UPDATE: 2011 winners can now be found in the Event History section.
Jane´s Transport Finance will hold its Annual Gala Awards Dinner on
30 November 2011.
For the second year in a row, the event will be held at the historic Plaisterers´Hall in the heart of London´s financial district. The first Plaisterers Hall, the home of one of London´s 12 original livery companies, was opened in 1556 but was destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666. The second Hall was built in 1669 from the design of Sir Christopher Wren, but this was also destroyed by fire in 1882.
This year has been especially challenging, with a number of banks exiting the transport finance market, putting a strain on an already tough environment. Added to the mix is a move by governments to scale back on the volume of export credit agency (ECA)-supported transactions.
While the finance environment has been challenging in light of the still prevalent global economic crisis, good deals have marked the transport finance sector, with bankers and lawyers developing structures to compensate for a downturn in traditional lending and the loss of valuable capacity in the global lending market.
The Jane’s Transport Finance Awards will recognise those industry participants that have stayed the course, demonstrating innovation in the face of ever-present challenges. There have been few signs of the credit market easing. Transport assets, however, are still being financed in spite of warnings to the contrary.
The Jane’s Transport Finance Awards has grown through the years and is widely viewed as the most prestigious event heralding the successes of bankers, lawyers and other finance professionals throughout the year.
Despite recent difficulties in the finance sectors, transport finance practitioners have weathered the storm and continue to provide the requisite means and expertise to keep aircraft flying, ships sailing, rails rolling and the infrastructure required to keep it all together.
This year will certainly be no exception.
We hope you will mark your calendars in anticipation of a lovely evening that will furnish an opportunity to meet friends and colleagues.
We at Jane’s look forward to seeing you on the evening of 30 November.
With best personal regards,

Jim Smith, Editor, Jane's Transport Finance
