ASCOD 2 aimed at FRES-SV
ASCOD 2 aimed at FRES-SVGeneral Dynamics UK (GD UK) is proposing a further development of the GD European Land Systems ASCOD 2 infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) chassis as the basis for its submission for the UK Future Rapid Effect System – Specialist Vehicle (FRES-SV) requirement. The proposal also embraces the Defence Industrial Strategy and recently stated UK AFV Strategy.

Warthog on track
Warthog on trackSingapore Technologies Kinetics (STK) is on schedule to deliver the first three Warthog armoured all-terrain tracked vehicles later this month and all 115 vehicles are due to be delivered in 2010. These will replace the BvS 10 Viking vehicles currently deployed in Afghanistan by the British Army, which took them over from the Royal Marines.

Confusion over Brazil fighter deal
Following Monday’s presidential announcement concerning the start of negotiations for the acquisition of 36 Rafales, plus 84 options, the Brazilian Minister of Defence, Nelson Jobim, issued a press release on Tuesday stating that evaluation of the three fighter types had not, in fact, been concluded.

Exhibited on Stand 2209 in the North Hall, the new jerrycan incorporates Lifesaver’s ultra-filtration technology, to remove bacteria, viruses, cysts, parasites, fungi and all other microbiological waterborne pathogens from local water without using chemicals, which are apt to impart an unpleasant taste.
