Welcome to the Jane's DSEi 2011 show site, which has been constructed with the assistance of the official show organisers, Clarion Events. On this website you will find comprehensive editorial coverage from the official DSEi show daily produced on-site by IHS Jane's during the exhibition.

As the official show news supplier, IHS Jane's will have a significant presence at the show - you will find IHS at Stand N9 - 316, where we will be featuring our Defence, Risk & Security and Design & Supply Chain capabilities, which includes Jane's and Fairplay. Voyager ready for RAF
Voyager ready for RAFIn the coming weeks, the Royal Air Force will take delivery of its first Airbus Military A330 Multi-Role Tanker/Transport. The final hurdle to delivery was military certification, the award of which has just been announced. The RAF’s aircraft was named Voyager in a ceremony at the Royal International Air Tattoo in July.

Fire Shadow ready for formal training to startThe Royal Artillery will start formal training with the MBDA Fire Shadow weapon system later this year at the Royal School of Artillery, Larkhill. It is expected that the system will enter service with 39 Regiment, Royal Artillery, in 2012 and provide a new capability to successful engage fleeting targets at extended ranges with a precision effect.

Boomerang system protects UK troops
Boomerang system protects UK troopsRaytheon BBN Technologies has supplied its Boomerang III acoustic shot detection system to the UK Ministry of Defence, and the system is now deployed in Afghanistan to help protect patrol bases and checkpoints. Hundreds of Boomerang systems have been acquired in a £20 million contract placed with Maxord Ballistics Ltd, the UK distributor.
