Welcome to the IHS Jane's Eurosatory 2010 show site.

The 10th Eurosatory Exhibition, with the specific theme ‘Gathering the World Defence Market – The World Reference Exhibition’ takes place from 14 to 18 June at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre.

On this site you will find comprehensive editorial coverage from the official show daily [link to exhibition news page] produced by IHS Jane’s on-site during the exhibition.

As official show news supplier for Eurosatory 2010, IHS Jane’s will have a significant presence at the show. You will find our main stand number L380 in hall 6, at which you will have the chance to find out more about our defence and security information.

Staying number one in commsFor many, the name Harris (Stand H571, Hall 6) is automatically associated with the military communications business, so it is no surprise to learn that the company has the largest share of tactical radios in the market. But it may be a surprise that Andy Start (pictured), the recently appointed president of the international business unit at the company’s RF Communications, has plans for his company to expand its presence in key regions around the globe. It is already the largest secure communications company in the world, with annual revenues of USD5bn.

Thermoplastic vehicle armour launchedKevlar ACV is the name given by DuPont to a new thermoplastic resin composite intended for use as a defence hard armour layer in various vehicles from floor to roof and door to door. The ballistic panels are made by consolidating single sheets that are lightweight, shapable and heat resistant.

ALAS gets set for full test campaignPresented on the Yugoimport SDPR stand (Hall 6, C160) is the EDePro ALAS advanced light attack system. This ambitious weapon is a 25km non-line-of-sight guided missile for use against armour and high-value targets, and which also provides an ad hoc reconnaissance capability.

Teamwork for wheeled market
Teamwork for wheeled marketKrauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) of Germany and IVECO Defence Vehicles of Italy are increasing their cooperation in the area of wheeled protected vehicles.

These are based on a modified IVECO Defence Vehicles Trakkar cross-country chassis, with the standard drive line retained and fitted with a well-protected crew capsule. In general terms, IVECO is responsible for the chassis and KMW for the complete armour solution.
